How do I identify my shower cartridge?

Tap Photo ID, upload 1–2 photos of your shower handle and trim, answer the quick questions, then tap "Identify My Cartridge."

The AI will analyze your photos and return the brand, valve type, and replacement part numbers.

What makes a good photo?

Frame the full trim plate and handle in one shot.

Use bright lighting and avoid shadows.

If you can see a brand logo or stamp, take a close-up of that too.

Remove the handle to expose the cartridge stem for the most accurate ID.

Why did I get a low confidence result?

Low confidence usually means the photo is blurry, the brand logo isn't visible, or the handle/cartridge has already been removed.

Try taking a clearer photo or a close-up of any stamps on the trim plate or valve body.

Can I submit more than one photo?

Yes — you can add up to 2 photos.

Use Photo 1 for the full handle and trim, and Photo 2 for a close-up of any brand markings or the valve body.

What do the clarifying questions do?

The questions (brand, handle attachment, number of handles, home age) give the AI extra context to narrow down the identification, especially when the photo alone isn't conclusive.

How do I share or save my result?

Tap your brand, then tap the trim line that matches your faucet.

You'll see the cartridge part numbers, a note about compatibility, and links to buy.

What if my brand isn't listed?

Use the Photo ID tab — the AI can often identify brands and cartridges not in the browse database.

You can also use the Parts Cross-Reference tool in the Reference tab to look up an old part number.

What can I diagnose?

The Diagnose tab covers five common shower problems: dripping or leaking, no hot water or wrong temperature, low water pressure, squeaky or hard-to-turn handle, and water that won't shut off fully.

How does it work?

Select your symptom, answer 2–3 follow-up questions, and get a likely cause plus a step-by-step fix guide with a DIY difficulty rating.

When should I call a plumber?

The diagnosis result will show a "May Need a Plumber" badge for issues that go beyond a cartridge replacement — such as leaks inside the wall or a damaged valve body.
